I'm asked this question quite a lot...
Q. "How do I get the best performance possible out of my AMAYA?"
A. Regular Maintenance!
All you need to do is keep up with the recommended maintenance. The best part about this is that your AMAYA has "BUILT IN" maintenance timers that will alert you to when you need to oil a hook or perform other maintenance tasks.
When I talk with people about how to get the best possible performance out of their AMAYA and we reach the part of our discussion where I explain why maintenance is so important I almost always get the same follow up question.
Q. Do I have to?
A. Yes, all good things require regular maintenance.
It's pretty amazing how fast your AMAYA can stitch and when you consider how much friction can build up between moving parts at the speeds that the AMAYA operates at it becomes pretty clear that the more you maintain proper cleanliness and lubrication of your AMAYA the better it will run.
In extreme cases, I have seen AMAYA's that had not been kept fresh on maintenance and after long periods of time they still ran, but they did not produce the same amount of product as they could have been and certainly not without more stops than was really necessary. Just by following the maintenance timers on your equipment you will ensure that your AMAYA runs at its best.
In the same conversation, I am typically asked one third and final question.
Q. What happens if I do not stay on top of my maintenance?
A. You will create problems for yourself that you do not want.
Lack of proper lubrication, for example, can lead to all kinds of problems from thread breaks to general sew quality issues. I always recommend that every customer occasionally read through the maintenance section of your technical and operator’s manuals. It's a short section with easy to read information AND if followed you will see just how great your AMAYA can run!
