Hey all,
I am needing to sell an older melco emc 10 to gain more space in my shop (upgraded to amaya XT). I posted an ad on another site NOT ebay for sale.
I got targeted by a postal money order scam. From the beginning I was a tad leary about the way the guys emailed etc. so I remained cautious as I went. When the postal money orders arrived, I did ask about them when I took them to deposit. My local bank people suggested having them varified before signing them. So I took them to the post office where the alert employees were able to confirm my leariness. They confisgated the frauds and said that after a while the 'bad guys' would quit calling and emailing etc.
I have waisted a lot of time this week with the whole thing--need to be busy with customer orders! I still need to sell the emc 10 so I can have some space but for now I will continue working around it.
Oh one of the last times the guy contacted me, I asked if he needed the zipper foot that went with it or not. He said yah okay, so yah okay send it too! So obviously we are not dealing with a true embroiderer!
I also know that it would never be sent because in the ad I said shipping was the responsibility of the buyer. Part of the scheme is they will tell you they are going to send the purchase amount PLUS the amount to pay for the shipping. When you recieve the money orders they want you to cash or deposit them then right away they want the shipping money sent Western Union to 'their shipper' 'so that it can be picked up quickly' all hoping that afer you do this is when you find out that their money is not good. You then are not only still left holding on to what ever it is you sold but you are out shipping money if you choose to go along with.
Be aware, and be safe! HOPE WE ALL HAVE A GREAT FALL --MINE IS BEGINNING TO GET BUSY YAY!!!!!!!
