Personalizing The World

I probably missed this and have not go far enough in understanding the process, so please bear with me.

How can I upload a .dst embroidery file into the Live Designer.

I caught something about having to generate an .ofm file.

How do I create the the ofm file from a .dst file?

THanks for your patience.

Bill:

You need to go to DesignShop, import the dst. file, program the correct colors into the design, and save it with the modifications.

Designshop will save it as an ofm., hopefully and ofm.7.

Then you go to www.punchsystems.com, design management, design management, select a design category, or create one, and a sub-category if you need one.

Then go to the bottom of the page and hit "Upload Design"

Then you will need to enter a design group like Dakota, Boalboa, or self, whatever.

Then hit browse, select the converted dst. in it's ofm. configuration you saved, and hit upload.

If it doesn't upload right away, you may have to use a different browser, I found out the hard way.

I was using Mozzila Foxfire, and it would not upload.

David at Melco LiveDesign had me switch to Internet Explorer for the upload, and it worked like a charm.

By the way, can you send me the answers you received on the addition pages for the back side of the site?

Thanks, and good luck.

Absolutely, thanks so much.

I imagine they would post the answers as well, but I will send you copies of what I have, or David Scott, could also contact you.

Thanks again.

Chris,

I understand now why I missed the step. I do not have the Design Shop software.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Thanks again for your help!

If you don't have a copy of DesignShop, you can get a copy of MelcoSizer from us - this software is a simple tool that will let you open embroidery files and convert them from one file format to another (i.e. from .DST to .OFM).

Please contact your sales person and have them send a copy out to you.

I have a copy of the Sizer program.

How can I change the colors of the palette for each design to match my customer's thread colors.

Most of the files I open from a dst, changes all the colors sequences to the color I selected. It converts the whole design.

I need to convert the palette colors in the sizer program so the design displays correctly.

How can I change the pallette colors?

Thanks!

David,

I am good. I made myself sit down at the computer and learn how to do it.

Thanks!
